Such a pleasure to shoot the Hammersmith Apollo shows of this 10 year anniversary tour. This was the last album I worked on with Ben and was a real career highlight for me, art directing everything from the album artwork to the live visuals and merchandise.

Since then Ben has gone on to make several brilliant records but this one, for whatever reason holds a special place in many people’s record collection.

The band played three nights to a packed venue and I had the pleasure of documenting them. I have photographed Ben in concert so many times and find I often like the more experimental pictures I’ve produced previously so decided to shoot these shows with that in mind. Shutter drag, atmospheric blur and artistic abstraction was what I was going for (with the odd sharp image for good measure).

Using the lights from the visuals, developed and updated by the awesome Wilbot who worked on the original visuals with me. Willy has developed and progressed the light show alongside lighting wizard Will Barrow into a feast of colour and psychedelic splendour.

A real treat to shoot and witness.
